In 2015, at age 9, I caught this bass with my dad who happens to be my best friend. In the moment I was so overwhelmed trying to remember how fast to reel and to frequently jig my pole. I launched the last cast I had left in me, and did the technique my dad taught me. A moment later I hear my dad telling me to “reel it in son.” After reeling for what felt like an eternity, I landed my PB bass. This guy had to be close to 5 pounds and reeling him in felt like a dream. This sparked a flame in my heart. Ever since that day I fell in love with fishing and has been my favorite hobby since. In 2024 I bought some cheap fishing lures I found from Walmart and flipped them at a local vendor event and felt so happy being able to meet people that held the same love for fishing like I did. Ever since that day, I have had the dream to bring my love of fishing to people around the world! Unlike many sports, you don’t need to be super fit or fast, you just need patience and peace. I sometimes find myself daydreaming, thinking about all the gifts in my life and the grace I have with my Lord Jesus Christ. I would not be able to achieve anything without the strength from my God. I pray that everyone reading this knows that they always have someone, and someone who loves to fish. Don’t let anyone tear you down, and don’t let anyone tell you to do something different when you know what you’re doing is right.
